FINALLY!

At long last, Fashion Blogger, Ms HILDA NGELO AWAMBENG, (herself a SAKERETTE), and her MAMMYPI FASHION TV production team have accomplished the DAUNTING, GARGANTUAN TASK of condensing, compressing and flat out SQUEEZING what was an EPIC, ALL NIGHT EVENT, into 15 MINUTES!!!!

The EVENT in question, is or was, since it happened back on the 31st of August 2019, ExSSA-UK's 2019 CONVENTION GALA.

Having just read that simple statement; WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO SEE???

GQ-WORTHY TUXEDOS and MAMI WATA/SWEEP & DRY CLEAN DE FLOOR GOWNS? JOINTS, BONE & MARROW-DEFYING DOMBOLO?? SOTAY-YA-SHADOW-SEFF-SEFF-FINISH "SNAFFING" ON THE RED CARPET???

Well, there IS some of that in the 15 - actually 14 minutes and 40 seconds footage (What's not to LOVE about Glitz and Glam??!!), PLUS SNIPPETS of :

- The Remarks of the New President of SOBA-UK, Mr. FRANKLIN EGBE, (Go, Namesake!);

- The stringent REMINDER of the OPSAN representatives that S.B.C. is, in fact, Q.R.C.'s FALLA-BACK in terms of age, (Well noted oh, Marram JACQUIE LOTTIN NFOR!!! LOL!);

- The Remarks of the peeps of KUMBA Representative; (Long Live K-TOWN!!);

- Ms DIBO MAXWELL and her MADE-BY-HERSELF Stunning Evening Gown, (Some people actually took their NEEDLEWORK CLASSES seriously oh!);

- The 2 ExSSA-UK ENTREPRENEURS who participated in the TRADE FAIR that had taken place earlier that same day; etc., etc.!!!!

BUT then, this quote that came straight out of the mouth of a younger SAKERETTE - Ms KAREN T. EBAN and which was also reiterated later in the VIDEO by the PRESIDENT of ExSSA-UK , Ms IRENE TAMAJONG herself, eloquently and succinctly spells out what, in my opinion, is - or SHOULD BE, the RAISON D'ETRE of ANY and EVERY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION gathering on the face of the entire earth!

"IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT A PASTIME TO DRESS UP AND LOOK NICE; IT IS ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTION WE'RE MAKING TO SOCIETY; THE CONTRIBUTION WE'RE MAKING TO THE GIRLS' LIVES"

THAT sure resonates with me and I would very sincerely submit that ANY entity that not just professes this but ACTS accordingly, WITH A BLAZING, CONSISTENT, CONCRETE EVIDENCE-BACKED TRACK RECORD to show for it, deserves not just ACCLAIM but RESPECT, and ExSSA-UK's definitely got mine, No IFs, ANDs or BUTs , and no Strings, Cords, Twines attached!!!

TRUE, the SNIPPETS and RED CARPET INTERVIEWS were all captured on that GALA night itself BUT what can be distinctly GLEANED and PERCEIVED from what was said and from what you can see, sheds a TON of light on what drives ExSSA-UK and explains CONCRETELY, why, for some of us, it constitutes a BLUEPRINT for what every ALUMNI ASSOCIATION worth its salt - SAKERETTE or NOT, should be about.

Thinking all of the above assertions may just have been made GRATUITOUSLY? Then why not just carve out the 15 MINUTES it would take to not only WATCH, (and gleefully identify your Sister, Brother, Friend, or even former "KWAKU" when they appear), but also LISTEN CAREFULLY????

As for this SAKERETTE, all I have left to say is:

GODSPEED, ExSSA-UK! May The Almighty enable you to FLYING THE FLAG of our BELOVED ALMA MATER so very high!!!!! OBOSSO!!!!!
