It is with grief and deep sadness that we announce the passing of 17 year old High School Senior, Miss HELEN BAWAK-MANYI WAMEY, the only child of CLASS OF 1988's Ms. BELINDA AYAMBA ENYONG.
HELEN, an exceptionally gifted and talented High School Senior passed away suddenly yesterday, Wednesday, September 29th 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Needless to say, her demise has left all of us who have known her since the days when her Mom would bring her along, (as a toddler), to ExSSA-USA Conventions, clad in her own cute little SAKER COCONUT FABRIC "KABAS". in utter disbelief and SHOCK!!!!
How are we to handle the news that our adorable WINNER OF THE CARAT BEST SWIMSUIT/BEST POSE CONTEST at the 2012 ExSSA-USA Convention in Los Angeles, who went on to clinch every award in sight throughout her stellar academic and athletics (gymnast) career IS GONE??
She was so deservedly featured on SakerPride back in 2015 when she was just a RISING 6th Grader and here is some of what was posted, coming from her teacher:
"The student takes pride in being a critical thinker and independent learner. The student is also consistently engaged in group discussion and class participation activities. She is my “out of the box” thinker. She is a delight to hear during class discussions.
She persists on assignments despite challenges and obstacles, and takes visible delight in accomplishing work. She desires learning and sets high expectations for her own learning.
In writing, I can share that the student approaches writing with a clear purpose in mind and knows how to transfer all her great ideas on to paper. Excellent writer.
In Math, the student exemplifies higher level thinking for enduring understanding. She has the ability to analyze math problems and solve them on a complex level. She has advance understanding of the subject matter and the ability to apply knowledge when problem-solving. She is also capable of applying what is learned in multiple complex ways. ...
Helen is highly active in the school. She participates in many school-wide events. She has done oratorical, student-council, spelling bee (winner 4th & 5th grade), dance team, Black History (grade level winner), Reflections (1st place winner for dance category)"

So, HOW is a DOTING, HANDS-ON, DEDICATED & COMMITED SINGLE MOM who had such a teen for an ONLY CHILD & DAUGHTER supposed to cope with her loss????
Only by the GRACE OF GOD; And that is why we humbly beseech Him to provide her, her Family, her Friends and all who mourn this tragic loss, with the COMFORT and PEACE that only He who first gave and who has now taken, can give!
ASHIA, MAMI BAWAK!
SLEEP IN PEACE, BEAUTIFUL, GRACEFUL BAWAK, IN THE LOVING ARMS OF YOUR MAKER, who might just have decided, based on HOW MUCH you were able to accomplish in your short but fulfilling 17 years on His Earth, that it was time to call you home!!!!!!
ADIEU!!!
