That is already more TALENT and INDUSTRIOUSNESS than many a human being could boast of. This Registered Nurse wants to Save Your Sons - With an App
Quinta is a native of Batibo in Cameroon and a Registered Nurse turned entrepreneur. Together with her USAF Veteran husband, they are on a mission to help kids have a more enjoyable childhood. Quinta remembers the days when, growing up, her serial entrepreneur of a father, commonly known as “Aim Bookshop", limited his kids to 30 minutes of screen time a day. “Strictly for the news,” she says, “Even then, you wrote it down with your comments to read back to him when he got back home from work.” She remembers how freeing and enjoyable it was to spend hours daydreaming, reading and figuring things out without screens. “Today’s kids do not have that luxury, and it's showing in their demeanor, their school work and diminishing their chances for success in later life. We want to change that.”
They therefore started the LifeBud movement - a movement towards healthier and more productive kids and communities. Their flagship product, the LifeBud Parental Assist App, received an unprecedented response from parents they interacted with at the Raleigh Kids Expo and the Knightdale Arts and Education Fair in the past month.
Lifebud is currently crowdfunding to complete the development of their mobile application to help fight digital addiction and build essential life skills in young boys. The campaign is seeking $10,000 in funding by October 20, 2018 and can be found at https://ifundwomen.com/projects/lifebud.
LifeBud fights digital addiction and builds skills by placing time limits, filtering content, and blocking access until prescheduled chores are complete and parent-approved. Boys receive points for complying, which they redeem for coupons to gain free access to locations that have partnered with LifeBud to get kids more active.
Recent studies find that children ages 8-18 experience decreased levels of happiness, attention span, and performance in school the more time they spend consuming media. Studies also show children losing social skills, becoming emotionally detached, and having increased depression and suicide risks. Furthermore, boys are 3x more likely than girls to develop an addiction to mobile or gaming devices.
“We were awakened to this problem when our youngest son would wet himself rather than pausing his game to go use the restroom. A recent survey found that 47% of parents are worried about their children’s addiction to mobile devices. Current parental control options are shunned by children and some parents as they do not incorporate practical rewards or are so limited in function, it takes several apps to achieve what LifeBud has put together in one.
LifeBud has created multiple reward options on their iFundWomen crowdfunding campaign so anyone can join along in supporting this movement. Upon launch in early Fall, yearly memberships will be $150 but during the campaign they will be available for pre-order at $100.

The first time QUINTA's path crossed Sakerpride's was when, back in July of 2015, SakerPride put out a heart-rending plea to help her and her siblings find their DAD, Mr. SIMON ACHA AKEM, fondly known as "AIM BOOKSHOP", (because the Popular Chain Of Bookstores He owns),
who had simply gone MISSING IN NIGERIA a few months prior. Talk about a situation fit to be featured on the "UNSOLVED MYSTERIES" TV series!!
The next time she caught my attention is when I noticed a brutally CANDID post on her Facebook Page, which I reference here, with her permission. She spoke boldly and clearly about topics that are "embarrassing" at best, and flat out TABOO, at worst. She was VOCAL on subjects that are either spoken of in hushed tones, or, not at all, and almost never, from a PERSONAL standpoint; She talked about having been ABUSED, having been PREGNANT, HOMELESS and in living in a SHELTER, and also about SUFFERING FROM CLINICAL DEPRESSION! (SEE FLYER AT THE END OF THIS POST!!!) What COURAGE!!!
The third "virtual meeting" was the proverbial CHARM! Quinta was getting married to her Knight In Shining Armor/Prince Charming, Mr. JASON CAYLOR, and what a BEAUTIFUL, DEEP, MEANINGFUL & SMOOTHLY BLENDED Celebration it was, on so many levels!!! A veritable Modern day Fairy Tale, if ever there was one! (SEE A FEW PICTURES FURTHER BELOW)
Not sure I should bother anyone with the fact that Ma SakerPride's "Selling After The Market" self missed out - by a very wide margin, on being one of the first 4 persons to comment on a post by CAT Jason, which was designed to earn the Lucky 4 one of his INNOVATIVE & BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE CLOCKS from his SWEETHOMECLOCKS exclusive collection!!! Oh, well, I'll count it as the fourth encounter!
And then there's this 5th "episode" which led to this post, and which is best explained by Quinta's NOTE to me:

If someone asked anyone, SAKERETTE or NOT, to make a list of RENOWNED, REPUTABLE and WIDELY-KNOWN ACROSS DECADES & GENERATIONS SAKERETTES, I just don't see how that list could go past 5 names without it including the name of the 168th STUDENT to be registered in Saker Baptist College, CLASS OF 1969 MAJOR, CLAUDIA AKYE FOKAM BUMAKOR, aka "AUNTY CLO"!!!!
The reasoning behind that assertion is pretty simple:
One of the things - if not THE MAIN THING Saker Baptist College and SAKERETTES are known for is ... SINGING!
The ONE SAKERETTE who has consistently been SINGING on a public stage across the world, has taught music and directed countless choirs, (both within and without Saker Baptist College), is a TRAILBLAZER in Cameroon when it comes to small "SINGING GROUPS" by dint of her creation of the well know "PRESS SINGERS", and who has been a RECORDING ARTIST for DECADES, is ... AUNTY CLO!
Therefore, logically, makes sense-ically, ... (Pretty sure you get my drift!!)
Someone sent me the POSTER/FLYER above which is advertising the SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd 2019 CONCERT she plans on having at YAOUNDE's RED CROSS HALL to celebrate "50 YEARS IN MUSIC AND THE SPREAD OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST IN SONG".
My severely mathematically-challenged brain did NOT warrant that I go hunting for a CALCULATOR to figure out what 2,019 take away (as in "minus") 50 is!! I JUST KNEW THE 'ANGSAH" WOULD BE 1,969, as in, 1969!!!!!
WHY???
Because Ma SakerPride KNOWS for a WELL DOCUMENTED & ARCHIVED FACT that 1969 is the year SAKER BAPTIST COLLEGE's PRINCIPAL at the time, THE LATE DONALD WITT, (GOD REST HIS DEAR SOUL), led the renowned CAMEROON COLLEGE SINGERS on a "FIRST-IN-THE-HISTORY-OF-CAMEROON" TOUR OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA!
That group was made up of 19 STUDENTS , and "AUNTY CLO" was one of the 10 SAKERETTES that were part of the group. (The 9 others - 1 Lady and 8 Gentlemen, were from B.T.T.C. SOPPO)
Now, in a 19 person-strong choir, it could be quite a challenge to distinguish or pick out individual voices BUT in this specific CAMEROON COLLEGE SINGERS case, no one who has heard AUNTY CLO sing before can possibly fail to recognize that peculiar SOPRANO VOICE of hers when you hear the "LONG TIME AGO IN BETHLEHEM, SO THE HOLY BIBLE SAYS" series of solos she belts out in what is one of the best known songs on the 33 RPM VINYL RECORD that features the 19 songs recorded by the group: "MARY'S BOY CHILD"!
This was, of course, only the BEGINNING of her 50 year long singing career, given that she returned to TEACH at Saker Baptist College in the 80's and in that time also served as HOUSE MOTHER and CHOIR DIRECTOR, actually COMPOSING many of the CLASS GRADUATION SONGS for the Graduating Batches, my class of 1981 Class included! She has since toured AFRICA and the WORLD as part of groups like THE PRESS SINGERS, as well as, as a SOLO ARTIST! Furthermore, there exist GENERATIONS of MEN & WOMEN, BOYS & GIRLS who had her for their "CHOIR MISTRESS" when they were SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN in PCC BASTOS' YOUTH CHOIR!!!
She really and truly has been "SPREADING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST IN SONG" for 50 YEARS and the least one can do is say: CONGRATULATIONS, THANK YOU & GODSPEED, AUNTY CLO!

1) VIP SECTION:
This is where they sell clothing and shoes by well known BRANDS like Zara, Mango, Bershka, Addidas, Puma, Victoria Secret, Missguided and many more. (All the Products in this VIP Section are imported from Germany.)
2) The Shop:
In this section they offer cosmetic products, makeup, kids sets, baby products, shower gel, kitchen liquid soap, Perfume, roll-on , rubbing oil, pads, sweets, First Aid items like plaster, bandages, etc.
All the cosmetic products (which include Brand Names such as Nivea,Dove, Balea, Addidas, Pampers, Babylove and others are all from Germany as well.)
3) Paradise: (IN HER OWN WORDS!)
As the name goes😊. We have here 3 grades of okrika/fuperi/secondhand goods
First grade: almost not or not used at all.
Second grade: slightly used
Third grade : used.
In this section we have almost everything for everyone. Clothes, bags, belts, cars, socks, swimming suits, men suits, pants, caps, ties and so on. And our prices range here from 300frs. Even though we have sweets at 100frs each😊
HER OPINION/ADVICE:
You don't have to start with something as big as ROMIS 🎀. (You sure can if you want. Why not?)
It could just be something different to attract people. Take for example, the umbrella decorations at ROMIS. Many people come around saying they heard about hanging umbrellas. That is how one gets started. It could be something else which is not common. That is how we all start 🥰
In so doing we could really help to create jobs.
Now, ain't that some darn good advice!!!!

ABOUT THE OWNER & CEO:
She is a 32 year old WOVIA (Bimbia) - BASSA métisse who enrolled in SAKER BAPTIST COLLEGE in the year 2000, but later moved on to CHRIST THE KING COLLEGE, TIKO, and then on to GHS/GBHS LIMBE. She went on to enroll in the UNIVERSITY OF BUEA but it apparently was NOT "the place to be" for her, as she left, just after 3 short months there, for GERMANY, where she attended the UNIVERSITY OF ASCHAFFENBURG, specializing in HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT and INTERNATIONAL SALES, got married and landed a job.
She worked as a Human Resources Manager, but knew, everyday she sat at her office desk, that she would not be there for long. Here's how she puts it:
"For sure I had the opportunity to work with a lot of people. But I am that creative person. I needed something creative to balance my soul. I later took maternity leave and then I had a lot of time to think 😊. During this period , we traveled around the world and then I knew that was it.😂
The Idea of ROMIS was born. A big shopping corner for everyone. Where everyone can buy. But the building and presentation inside must be classy.
Many people see the building and get scared. But it just had to be that way. Our Architect, our Engineer and Ourselves wanted a building that would be very captivating. For many of us, growing up, the full extent and magnitude of our DREAM, when it comes to the field of COMMERCE, was selling MALABAR Chewing Gum or "MBONG-MBONG", (be it the Red or the Yellow kind), out of a "WATA PROOF" during LONG BREAK, as in "3 for 5 frang"!
And that was even aiming pretty high, since most of us just did us "TRADE BY BARTER", as in, "gee me ya BOLO-BOLO; ah gee you ma BIZER"!!! (Need I mention the "DOMOH/PALA-PALA-ing" that ensued when any of the parties to these transactions defaulted??? Total WANDAS.COM!!!)
All the more reason why we ought to MARVEL at the exploits of the 32 YEAR OLD-but-looks-12) lady who features in SAKER BAPTIST COLLEGE'S REGISTRATION RECORDS as STUDENT #4712, having been enrolled in the school at the dawn of the 21st CENTURY - in September of the year 2000.
Talking about (GRADUATING) CLASS OF 2005's YVONNE ENGEMISE, OWNER & CEO of "ROMIS", LIMBE CITY'S FIRST EVER SHOPPING MALL-LIKE SHOPPING CENTER!
Looks to me like there's no longer any need for "BUSHFALLERS" to fly into NSIMALEN or DOUALA with HUGE suitcases laden with "NYANGA" and "PIKIN" supplies for themselves and their families!
Neither do people in MBOA need to send looooong "AH BEG, BRING ME ..." lists to their relatives and acquaintances who dwell abroad.
ROMIS has those needs taken care of, I daresay!

Don't know about you, but I didn't exactly care for OKRO SOUP growing up!
Wasn't at all impressed, convinced or swayed by those "NJANJA MOTO SABI SWEET FOR OKRO SOUP" lyrics of the Primary School Marching Song, no matter how often - or how loudly it was sung!
Things may have been different, had I known what CLASS OF 1999's STUDENT #3902, Mrs. CARINE NCHIA FONJIE - CREATOR of this product called CAPOP'S OKRA POWDER, knows!
Interestingly, if you saw her, complete with OVERALLS, HARD HAT, SCREW DRIVERS and GREASY FINGERS, in her capacity as HUMAN RESOURCES and ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER for ROFF SECTOR - a LIMBE-based Construction Firm, you would legitimately wanda wetin concern'am for OKRO SOUP, but she - and WORKING WOMEN'S CIRCLES, (a Community Organization she founded), are up to their eyeballs, TASTE BUDS and MAMMARY GLANDS, into this GOMBO affair!
WHY? Here are her reasons, IN HER OWN WORDS:
Every year, Working Women's Circles joins other organizations to raise awareness for breast cancer. After the breast cancer awareness campaign in October 2018, I decided to carry out a little research online on how to limit the risk of breast cancer in women. That was when I discovered, courtesy of Ecowatch, Medical News Today and New Times Of India, that consuming Okra regularly may help prevent breast cancer.

Reverend Mrs. ANNE EBANE EBUNE TAKOW is someone I have known not just as a classmate - 5 years in Saker Baptist College and 2 more in CCAST Bambili, but also as a SISTER-FRIEND for over 4 decades now. (44 years to be exact!)
Smart, Driven, Conscientious, Disciplined and Godly. Those are adjectives I am pretty sure any one who knows her would readily use to describe her, which is why it would come as no surprise that she has authored a book which zeroes in on the core of the CHRISTIAN FAITH: "COMPLETE REDEMPTION IN CHRIST"!
Given the uncertainty that currently grips our pandemic-struck and strife-ridden world, it couldn't have surfaced at a better, more opportune time, to help - maybe "force" us to prioritize, re-focus and accord rightful importance to the "hereafter", as opposed to the "now", in a more MARY and less MARTHA kind of way!
