GREETINGS!!!

On August 4th 2017 (at 07:51 a.m.), this is the email that was shared on the SAKERETTES WORLDWIDE egroup:

I got a message yesterday - A PLEA FOR HELP, from Class of 2000/2002's CLEMENTINE FORTEH MILLER, (Senior Prefect), who now resides in Albany, New York. Here's the situation, in a nutshell:

Her Mother - who is also step mom to Class of 1992/94's GLORY FORTEH KIMBENG, came over to the U.S. from Cameroon last September to visit and fell very ill. To everyone's greatest shock, she was diagnosed with Cancer - multiple myeloma. Needless to say, her medical bills are staggering, and that is why Clementine has resorted to setting up a GOFUNDME Campaign, for Financial Support. The very least I could do is share it with you, in the hope that you will PRAY for all involved in this difficult situation, and HELP with whatever amount you are moved or led to DONATE.
GOD BLESS,
Egbe Mbiwan Monjimbo

You all, KIND SOULS, did DONATE!

Unfortunately, however, another message from CLEMENTINE has arrived, 4 years later, and here is an excerpt from it:

"I reached out to you in 2017 regarding my mom. Sadly she passed away here in the USA on May 9th 2021. I have created a GOFUNDME to get help with the cost of sending her home. I am hoping you could please share in SakerPride.

... it has been heart wrenching but mama is resting now. Her last gift to me was to stay long enough to say good bye on the day she gave me life and on mother's day. I will celebrate every birthday with mom, celebrate her life. Thank you so much for all you do.

And so I SORROWFULLY REPEAT the appeal to "PRAY for all involved in this difficult situation, and HELP with whatever amount you are moved or led to DONATE", as I address my sincere condolences to CLEMENTINE, GLORY and the bereaved Family.

THE LINK IS POSTED AT THE TOP & BOTTOM OF THIS POST

May Mrs. ANNE MOJOKO FORTEH'S SOUL REST IN PEACE!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Miss ELIZABETH-JOY MUSAGA
SAKER CARAT (DAUGHTER)
SUNSET: Sunday, August 15th 2021
It is with such a HEAVY heart that we inform you of the demise of Miss ELIZABETH-JOY (LIZZY) MUSAGA, daughter of CLASS OF 1970's Sis DORIA MUSAGA, which occurred on the morning of Sunday, August 15th 2021, following a car accident, at age 24.

The car she was driving skidded on a back road during a heavy rainstorm and hit a tree. She was trapped in the car and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

This whole tragedy is further compounded by the fact that in this same week and month of AUGUST, 9 years ago now, (2012), Sister Doria lost her other daughter, FRANCESCA MUSAGA, after a 2-year battle with acute leukemia, at the age of 25.

She has therefore now lost BOTH of her daughters; HER ONLY TWO CHILDREN, in the space of nine years!

Needless to say, she and her Mother, (the Late Children's GRAND Mother), are devastated.

Here is an excerpt from the gut-wrenching PLEA she has mustered the courage to put out, which I PRAY you will heed and do whatever you can to respond to:

"This unexpected accident has left both her grandmother and I (her mother) in a state of total shock and disbelief. All funds raised will be used to cover funeral expenses. Any funds raised over the immediate funeral expenses will be used to cover unexpected expenses resulting from the accident and to ease the financial burden of our family as we recover from this trauma.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to help cover the expenses related to Lizzy’s tragic and unexpected death. Donations of any size are very much appreciated. Please consider sharing this appeal with any of your friends, neighbors, relatives and business colleagues. Never in a million years did we ever expect that Elizabeth would be called home to heaven so soon to join her sister."

Thank you in advance for your generosity."

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Miss HELEN BAWAK-MANYI WAMEY
SAKER CARAT (DAUGHTER)
SUNSET: Wednesday, September 29th 2021
It is with grief and deep sadness that we announce the passing of 17 year old High School Senior, Miss HELEN BAWAK-MANYI WAMEY, the only child of CLASS OF 1988's Ms. BELINDA AYAMBA ENYONG.

HELEN, an exceptionally gifted and talented High School Senior passed away suddenly yesterday, Wednesday, September 29th 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Needless to say, her demise has left all of us who have known her since the days when her Mom would bring her along, (as a toddler), to ExSSA-USA Conventions, clad in her own cute little SAKER COCONUT  FABRIC "KABAS". in utter disbelief and SHOCK!!!!

How are we to handle the news that our adorable WINNER OF THE CARAT BEST SWIMSUIT/BEST POSE CONTEST at the 2012 ExSSA-USA Convention in Los Angeles, who went on to clinch every award in sight throughout her stellar academic and athletics (gymnast) career IS GONE??

She was so deservedly featured on SakerPride back in 2015 when she was just a RISING 6th Grader and here is some of what was posted, coming from her teacher:

"The student takes pride in being a critical thinker and independent learner. The student is also consistently engaged in group discussion and class participation activities. She is my “out of the box” thinker. She is a delight to hear during class discussions.

She persists on assignments despite challenges and obstacles, and takes visible delight in accomplishing work. She desires learning and sets high expectations for her own learning.

In writing, I can share that the student approaches writing with a clear purpose in mind and knows how to transfer all her great ideas on to paper. Excellent writer.

In Math, the student exemplifies higher level thinking for enduring understanding. She has the ability to analyze math problems and solve them on a complex level. She has advance understanding of the subject matter and the ability to apply knowledge when problem-solving. She is also capable of applying what is learned in multiple complex ways. ...

Helen is highly active in the school. She participates in many school-wide events. She has done oratorical, student-council, spelling bee (winner 4th & 5th grade), dance team, Black History (grade level winner), Reflections (1st place winner for dance category)"

The REPORT received at the time also listed her achievements as follows:

STUDENT'S ACHIEVEMENTS
- Class Ambassador
- Student safety Patrol
- Semi Finalist for Oratorical speech contest
- Talented and Gifted Student
- Science Olympian participant
- School spelling bee winner in both fourth and fifth grade
- Black History quiz bowl winner 4th and 5th grade

Extra Curricular Activities
- Girl scout, achieved her Bronze Award this year
- Track and Field
- Altar server(2-3) Sundays a month
- Dance. (Ballet, Jazz, Afro, Tap, Hip-hop, Musical Theater) Last year she was invited to join her dance school company competition. we brought home a total of 4 platinum awards, and 3 gold awards.

So, HOW is a DOTING, HANDS-ON, DEDICATED & COMMITED SINGLE MOM who had such a teen for an ONLY CHILD & DAUGHTER supposed to cope with her loss????
Only by the GRACE OF GOD; And that is why we humbly beseech Him to provide her, her Family, her Friends and all who mourn this tragic loss, with the COMFORT and PEACE that only He who first gave and who has now taken, can give!

ASHIA, MAMI BAWAK!
SLEEP IN PEACE, BEAUTIFUL, GRACEFUL BAWAK, IN THE LOVING ARMS OF YOUR MAKER, who might just have decided, based on HOW MUCH you were able to accomplish in your short but fulfilling 17 years on His Earth, that it was time to call you home!!!!!!

ADIEU!!!
