GREETINGS, DEAR SAKERETTE SISTERS, DEVOTED "SAKERPRIDERS" & COMPASSIONATE WELL-WISHERS!
I really would prefer NOT to have to come a-begging, YET AGAIN!
However, with an EVICTION NOTICE for MONDAY, JANUARY 27th 2020 hanging ominously over the heads of Graduating Class of 2001's JENNY WILLIE NAYARA, (STUDENT #4062), her CHILDREN (aged 10, 8 and 2), and her wheelchair-bound mother who are all INTERNALLY DISPLACED in YAOUNDE from EKONDOTITI in NDIAN DIVISION where she worked for 5 years as a FIELD SUPERVISOR with PAMOL, I just didn't think I had a choice but to try to do something to KEEP A ROOF OVER THEIR HEADS!!!!
All of the previous times JENNY contacted SAKERPRIDE, her request was for assistance to help her find A JOB, (she holds a Degree in English Private Law), NOT for any FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE! (The "Head Girl" of their Class Group shared that she has since been desperate enough to offer to WORK AS A MAID for any of them who would be willing to hire her!!!!! Weh!)
She has also been very forthright, open and EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for the Assistance she has so far received from her CLASSMATES and a benevolent SAKERETTE in Yaounde, in particular, who have helped her.
As the classmates of hers I have spoken to and I clearly realize, this same restricted group of people CANNOT realistically solve this IMMEDIATE CRISIS she is in, nor have they been successful, so far, with providing THE MUCH NEEDED LONG TERM SOLUTION, which is to procure GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT for her, so we are NOT in this same dire situation, further along the road.
Jenny has, out of SHEER DESPERATION, resorted to "going public" with a CAMPAIGN for your kind assistance, which is why, I have just now set up a GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN towards helping raise money for her rent!
(Trust Me: You would have done the same if you saw THE LOOK in those 3 INNOCENT CHILDREN'S EYES who are NOT in school and whose next meal is NOT guaranteed, all through NO FAULT OF THEIRS!)
The PICTURE she took and sent YESTERDAY as well as the EVICTION NOTICE she was obliged to sign are posted as part of the GOFUNDME Campaign which I hope you will find it in your soul to DONATE to, NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE AMOUNT!

Fri 1/24/2020 6:45 AM: Ma SP wakes up, prays the shortest prayer ever, (as in, no kneeling on her arthritic knees; no hands togedah; no eyes closed; juss begin dey waka dey pray dassoh, Mammie!), heads to her desktop, types the beggy-beggy plea that has to go on the "HOPE & HOME FOR JENNY & KIDS" GOFUNDME Campaign and sets it up. (At this point, NO ONE HAS SEEN THE CAMPAIGN EXCEPT THE GOFUNDME PEEPS, MA SP and GOD oh!)

Sat 1/25/2020 6:25: However, knowing that GOFUNDME does deduct its FEES, TAXES and PERCENTAGES from the amount raised, Ma SP goes to check to see what THE REAL AMOUNT raised is, and sees that the REAL AMOUNT RAISED AFTER TAXES is: $1,995.19
So, TECHNICALLY, the GOAL HAD NOT YET BEEN MET!!!
CONSEQUENTLY, the TIMELINE continues:
Sat 1/25/2020 6:40 AM: Ma SP sits down to send out an email update and titles it: "WHO WANTS TO BE THE 50th DONOR?"
She starts explaining how 49 WANDAFUL SAINTS have contributed to the GOFUNDME Campaign, and that IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS, the $2,000 GOAL HAS NOT JUST BEEN MET, BUT SURPASSED!
I then go on to say, HOWEVER, because the REAL AMOUNT raised is 4 dollars and ... (wetin be 100 minus 19 seff eh?) short, there is still room for a 50th DONOR to "fix things"!
BELIEVE YOU ME, as in, I KID YOU NOT, as in, VERILY, VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU!!!!!
As I am sitting there and TYPING, I hear "BING"! I look up at the top right side of the computer monitor and see that "ANONYMOUS" has donated $25 at 6:45 am!!!!!
I rush back to check the GOFUNDME Campaign and see that the amount raised now stands at $2,095.
I hasten to check what THE REAL AMOUNT RAISED is and, .... DRUM ROLL, as in HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST, I see that $2019.16, has indeed been raised, by 50 SAINTS, MAJORITY OF THEM SAKERETTES, (LONG LIVE "SAKERETTES WITHOUT BORDERS" ), BUT ALL PLUS A NUMBER OF MAN PIKIN DEM and NON SAKERETTE FEMALES OF GOODWILL added together in UNISON!!!

Wasn't there when MO' parted the RED SEA; Neither was I present when LAZA' was raised back to life after being buried 4 solid days, but I HAVE WITNESSED this MODERN DAY MIRACLE unfold before my very eyes and I AM BEYOND THANKFUL TO GOD and to YOU for giving Jenny and her family HOPE!!
I would be CRIMINALLY remiss if I failed to mention that THE OUTPOURING OF LOVE and SUPPORT for Jenny generated from this appeal went, and is still going, FAR BEYOND these 50 GOFUNDME DONORS oh!
To mention just a few examples,
- One SAKERETTE in Yaounde has had Jenny submit a dossier at her Job for possible employment, (PLEASE PRAY!)
- Another, after asking for Jenny's number yesterday, has actually carried her 2 feet and gone to visit Jenny this sharp Saturday Morning, like dis! Just look at what Jenny herself has texted - NOW-NOW so, about that visit:
"She was really nice to my girls, she gave us some food stuff and some money, and she has promised me a lot of help, she gave me Christian books too. I am really happy to have met her, thanks a lot Mum."
- One other SAKERETTE in Douala recounted the issue to her boss who was moved to volunteer a few months rent.
- Another SAKERETTE here in the States has asked for what it would cost to GET THOSE PRECIOUS CHILDREN BACK IN SCHOOL WHERE THEY BELONG, in terms of School Supplies, Uniforms and Fees!!! (THIS MATTER SHALL BE REVISITED VERY, VERY SOON, WHICH IS WHY YOU ARE CORDIALLY WELCOME TO CONTINUE DONATING IF YOU CAN & WISH OO!!)
- There was even a PRECIOUS LADY who donated and then sent a private email asking me to let her know if the goal wasn't reached on time!!!!

Before this COVID-19 thing came along and so rudely interrupted our lives, the only people who wore masks of any sort besides Doctors and Nurses were INVITEES TO A "BAL MASQUE", BANK ROBBERS, MICHAEL JACKSON and those of us who found ourselves on the KUMBA-MAMFE ROAD in the DRY SEASON, as in PURE NDAK!!!
Now, MASKS have become one of the most prized possessions anyone could have, and they are in such SHORT SUPPLY that even some of the DOCTORS, NURSES and other HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS who are in dire need of them don't have them.
And that's just where our age-old, tested and tried, LOGICAL "HALF BREAD IS BETTER THAN NONE" adage steps right in!
YES, the ideal thing to do, everyone agrees, is to STAY HOME but then, what do those "ESSENTIAL SERVICES PEEPS" and others who DO have to go out but just don't have "THE REAL THING", (as in, N95 masks, surgical masks or FFP1 masks) do?
OF COURSE, they make do with what they can procure or make themselves, which is a "HOMEMADE MASK", because it stands to reason that we are better off with that - AT LEAST, than with nothing at all, as in, TO LAMBO, when faced with the NEED to BOTH keep ourselves from being contaminated, or contaminating others!
That is precisely why the CDC, (not the one in BOTA, ah beg!, but the CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL), actually posted this on its OFFICIAL PAGE which I was overjoyed to read myself:

It was a posting that showed her MOM, Mrs. AWAH, busy at her SEWING MACHINE, "manufacturing" HOMEMADE masks which were then WASHED, PRESSED and PACKAGED by her sweetheart of over a couple of decades, Mr. AWAH! WHAT A SIGHT FOR SORE "CORO"-THREATENED EYES!!!
Must add right here, that Mr. & Mrs. AWAH are also the parents of CLASS OF 2008's LOIS GOLKADAS nee AWAH! (There's a whooooole other AMAZING and ultra NDOLO-ROUS story on the way about this, by the way, so STAY TUNED!!!)

Shalom family and friends, I hope you are all keeping well and your families too.
I come to you today on behalf of my little 18 year old nephew who has been battling bone cancer for one year now. He was only 17 when diagnosed.
He was on chemo treatment and responded to treatment. The first tumour disappeared completely and we were hopeful that things were getting better but by the end of January this year, the story started taking a different turn.
The tumour started growing (slowly at first) but between March and first week of April, the cancer became more aggressive.
Shockingly,( as seen in the picture above), the tumour more than tripled in size within the space of ONE WEEK . The picture with the dressing shows how big it's become between April 8 and April 12 (without the dressing, it's even more gruesome than in the picture).
Due to the weight of the tumour (causing spinal and hip pain), my nephew is now bedridden. We have been told immediate surgery is the only way to save his life because he's barely got months to live (without surgery).
Cameroon only does amputation, so his doctors have advised surgery and prosthesis (attachment) will be carried out in Tunisia or any other country where limb- sparing surgery is performed.
(We are trying to contact various hospitals).
For now, doctors are running further tests to ensure the cancer hasn't spread to his internal organs and by God's Grace he will be fit to begin treatment to stop the growth of the tumour and shrink it to an operable size.
The cost of chemo + treatment + surgery has taken its toll on the family, reason why we require your financial assistance to help him on his road to recovery so that by the Mercies of God, his life can be preserved.
