Ms LYDIA BELOE EFIMBA-BELLE
SUNRISE: March 15th 1943 ~ March 10th 2020
"It is with great sadness but gratitude to God, that we announce the passing on to glory of our precious mother, grandmother, sister, aunt Ms. Lydia Beloe Efimba-Belle, on March 10, 2020 after a brief illness in Harlow Town, United Kingdom.
We will provide an update on the funeral in due course."

- Akwo-Fese Victor Efimba (Son) on behalf of the Family

As they grow up, most, if not all young girls - pointedly or inadvertently, ADMIRE and LOOK UP TO some WOMAN in society or in their community, who may or may not even be related to them, because of what this person has achieved ACADEMICALLY, SOCIALLY or CAREER-WISE. Sometimes, the "pull" or attraction towards the person may simply lie in their BEAUTY; their ELEGANCE; their BEARING and POISE; Bref, just the way they carry themselves: With innate Dignity and enviable Class!

I don't have the wherewithal to poll all the GIRLS-TURNED-WOMEN who lived in YAOUNDE across GENERATIONS from the 70s/80s to date and who were privileged to OBSERVE "AUNTY" LYDIA EFIMBA at Work - in the Ministry of Education, at Church - in PCC Bastos, or at "Play" - in any of the many gatherings and occasions she attended.
If such a poll were to be taken, it would NOT at all surprise me if this WOMAN's name were to feature at the top of many a young girl's  "PERSON I WANTED TO BE LIKE WHEN I GREW UP" List - MINE included!

That is precisely why, when the news that she had passed on, unexpectedly, just 5 days shy of her 77th birthday struck, it hit not just her Family Members like a ton of bricks, but the MANY others for whom she was such an INSPIRATION; such a MENTOR; such an EXAMPLE to emulate. WHAT A LOSS!

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her children - MASSOMA, WASSE and AKWO, to her COUNTLESS SAKERETTE COUSINS & NIECES, and to the NGOH & NTUBA FAMILIES whose Matriarch and Family Head she was. The THUD made by the falling of your family's BAOBAB TREE really does resonate in our hearts as well.

We also seize this opportunity to gratefully acknowledge her DILIGENT SERVICE to the Nation of CAMEROON.
MAY HER SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE!!!

There is no disputing the fact that, right now, it has gone past just "RAINING" on our SAKERETTE FAMILY to "POURING"!
We've lost a significant number of SAKER MOMS, DADS, SIBLINGS, GRANDPARENTS, AUNTIES, UNCLES and FELLOW SAKERETTES themselves lately.

ALL the losses, without exception and irrespective of when and how they occur, SADDEN the heart, but there's no challenging the fact either, that some, because of certain "surrounding" circumstances, just "do a number" on one's soul!!!

Most often, in an effort to keep OBITUARIES "standard", even when the "FULL" or "LONGER VERSION" of the story behind the deceased's passing is known, those "in depth" details are just silently wept over, and only the "basics"; the "essentials" are posted (publicly), especially if the deceased is not an "actual" SAKERETTE or happens to be someone I don't know and have never met.
I therefore cannot quite explain what aspect, precisely, about the demise, on Saturday, May 16th 2020 of Mrs. NICOLE NCHUNG AYUK nee EBAI - a SAKER MOM I had never even heard about prior to her demise, makes her passing just so upsetting!

Maybe it is ...
- The fact that she had just celebrated her 53rd Birthday this past January 2020 ? OR ...
- The fact that she was WIDOWED at age 34 when her husband - Late Mr. OSCAR AFUGE AYUK, (himself very young), passed on in October of 2001 leaving her with 6 kids? OR ...
- The fact that one of her TWIN BOYS died a few months thereafter? OR ...
- The fact that she pressed on and got herself a solid education from some of Cameroon's FINEST and TOUGHEST Academic Institutions: Lycee Bilingue Molyko - Buea (Secondary School), GHS Limbe (High School), Yaounde University and the Advanced School of Translators and Interpreters (ASTI)? OR ...
- The fact that she defied all odds and steadily rose in her career from French Teacher at GBHS Limbe to Chief of Service for the Translation and Interpretation Service at the Ministry of Mines and Power and most recently, transitioned to CSPH as Sub-Director of the Translation department? OR ...
- The fact that she now leaves these children she worked so hard to raise, her grandson, her 7 siblings, a host of nieces and nephews, many others she took under her wing, and above all, HER MOTHER, to mourn her VERY SUDDEN and TOTALLY UNEXPECTED demise? OR ...
- The fact that she must have stayed very close to and doted on her in-laws, (even 19 years after her husband's demise), for A TON of those in-laws, (plus their spouses), to be as DISTRAUGHT as they currently are over her passing? (Boy, have they WAILED!!!) OR ... ????

We extend our deepest condolences to her entire SHOCKED & GRIEVING family, and particularly to her SAKERETTE ...

- DAUGHTER: NDIE AYUK (2006/2008),
- DAUGHTER-NIECE: MANUELA OTSENG BANYI: (2005/2007),
- DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: VANESSA NEH AWA AYUK nee NAMA (2007/2009),

Sunset: Friday, May 15th 2020
It is with deep regret that we report the peaceful transition into eternity, at age 88, of PA S.A. TANGUNYI, which occurred on Friday, May 15th 2020 at his GREAT SOPPO residence.

Pa TANGUNYI had a long career in the court registry and was an astute judicial professional who was widely reputed for his mastery of court registry practice, hard work, diligence, and impressive mastery of the Queen's language - which earned him the nickname "SHAKESPEARE" within family circles.

This conscientious public servant who was hailed as a "self made man" by erstwhile president of the Court of Appeal - The Late Chief Justice SML Endeley, in a speech he made at the former's installation as Registrar-in-Chief of the LIMBE Court of First Instance, was also an ardent Christian of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), who was admitted into the CHRISTIAN MEN'S FELLOWSHIP (CMF) movement in 1983 where he served as financial secretary and also as Presbytery financial secretary.

https://www.forevermissed.com/molanjohlitumbe/about
Dear Mola Njoh,
One would think that with you having gone well past the three score and ten allocated to us mere mortals, news of your demise, 3 months after you turned 93, would be managed fairly well but, even though we all are so THANKFUL for the RICH and FULL LIFE you lived, and even though we do know, deep down inside that you are far better off "over there", free from life's hassles - both medical and political, with Auntie Sarah and a ton of friends from your SASSE and AKINTOLA WILLIAMS days, we can't help but feel SAD. Just SAD, because you have left such a VOID that we know NO ONE can possibly fill!

The beloved Family, worthy Friends and countless Comrades you have left behind will each have their own innumerable reason(s) to remember you with gratitude. That's for sure!
For your Goddaughter Evenye, Namondo and I, you will always so fondly remembered as that JOVIAL Uncle who NEVER missed a single one of our major family events - Weddings (First to arrive and ready to chide us for not starting on time), Funerals (from Morgue to Grave), Thanksgiving celebrations, (Tamba on the head, singing away and making speeches), etc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY though, you will forever be, for us, "THE MASTER MATCHMAKER" who skillfully and convincingly talked Miss ELIZABETH EFETI MBONGO into first considering and then accepting Mr. EBAI A. MBIWAN's COURTSHIP and subsequent MARRIAGE proposals, which, of course is how all 4 (now 3) of us made it to planet Earth!!

Our deepest condolences to your cherished children - Sis LIENGU, MAFANY , Sis ENANY and EMBELLE and to the rest of the LITUMBE CLAN that currently has 3 different funerals to plan!

Our hearts go out to our fellow SAKERETTES for whom MOLA NJOH LITUMBE'S demise hits real close, amongst whom are:

He passed away on Wednesday September 16th 2020 in Germany, barely a week after returning from a visit he had made to CAMEROON.

This is particularly gut-wrenching because he was not known to have any pre-existing health conditions, and was simply found unconscious and unresponsive by his PREGNANT wife early on that morning of September 15th and declared DEAD when the Ambulance and Police arrived on the scene following a phone call from his shocked and bewildered, UNEMPLOYED wife whom he has left behind - with 2 VERY YOUNG SONS - in addition to the YET-TO-BE-BORN BABY!
Our hearts and fervent prayers go out to our Sister/Daughter and her precious babies! LORD, IN YOUR MERCY, soothe the pain and provide!

A GOFUNDME drive has been organized by his loved ones in the hope that we will each find it in our hearts to donate SOMETHING to help his family in this DIRE moment of need! PLEASE GIVE WHATEVER YOU CAN! GOD BLESS YOU.
